“put” up with that.
I wish FR had an edit feature after posting. Oh Well.

Hi.
Thanks.
There’s a kid in one of the paintings. Artistic license maybe, or some primo weed?
No matter, the Samaritan woman is ... pretty.

I never learned to play guitar, chiefly because I lost one hand, my "left wing", when run over by a racing boat when I was 14. My college roommate, a cinema major, made a short very forgettable film of me "attempting" to play.
Call me Righty.

Wow...I didn’t know that. That must have been so traumatic!

Although a child is not mentioned in the text, it seems to me to be reasonable and not hallucinatory to expect her to be a mother. She certainly had no shortage of sperm donors.

Of course, but that was so 1963.

Thanks for the link. I like PP&M but I never heard this one. It’s very good and faithful to scripture.
I listen to oldies stations and I’m always surprised how much of scripture and Christianity made it into old pop and folk tunes.

I think it is a “Negro Spiritual”, a genre from which P,P,& M drew heavily. We used to sing them a lot, before it became “politically incorrect”.
Here are a few others, either genuine or written in the style of the “Negro Spiritual”.
Swing Low, Sweet Chariot
Jesus Met The Woman
Michael, Row the Boat Ashore
Amen, Amen
Deep River
Who dat Touchin’ My Garment?
If I Had a Hammer
Samson & Delilah (by the Grateful Dead!)
Standin’ In The Need of Prayer
Go Down Moses (Let My People Go)
Turn, Turn, Turn (by Pete Seeger...YIKES! Based on Ecclesiastes)

I'm enjoying the Chosen, as well. (Um, no pun intended!)
I enjoy these painting collections when I happen to see them posted. Which, from what I see in your list, is not often enough!
So, please do me the honor of adding me to your ping list!
This is my favorite painting from this lot, fwiw:
Thank you for posting them!

Lots of communication and interaction depicted in that painting.
Very happy to add you. Do be aware this isn't actually an every-single-day thread, but you'll get pinged nine days out of ten.
I'm happy to report the commenters here are friendly and noncombative, so feel free to jump right in.

Thanks! I didn’t mean to imply that you don’t post these often enough, but rather that I don’t catch them often enough when you do - big difference! I look forward to seeing them more often now! ;-)

No, you were perfectly clear. I just guard against newcomers wondering why they didn't get a ping on some days, because it seems to be daily.

I like #4, #5, and #24.
Thanks for this!
To: thecodont
That's why I number them, to enable easy references.
I wondered what the reaction might be to #4, with the blurry Jesus. I like it, too.
#24 is by James Tissot, probably the single most frequent contributor on these threads. There is a growing consensus among commenters here that he hits the mark most often.
By the way, this is Saturday's thread, Part 1; hope you saw today's, too. On Monday we'll move indoors.
