I am in stained glass windows paradise!
They beautify buildings, they bring light inside and they tell a story. The ancient Egyptians and later the Romans, were adept in making small objects of colored glass, but it is during the Medieval times that these windows were used in churches. They became larger and more beautiful, telling stories to the people who could not read and on the idea that light was a manifestation of God himself.
During the Renaissance non-biblical scenes were introduced and these windows were used in other buildings and the private homes of the wealthy.
What can be more wonderful than sitting in a church, surrounded by walls of stained glass windows and experience the changing of the light throughout the day or the seasons? A mystical experience.
I love stained glass. I have a mobile home full of Tiffany-Style lamps, and stained glass panels hanging on the windows, as well as a leaded-glass kitchen door.
On a mobile home (trailer!) hahaha
Tapestry and glass, each more beautiful than the last.
