I believe we’ve previously mentioned that artists often portray the subject as directed by their patrons. They didn’t have full artistic freedom. Add in the general level of illiteracy and Biblical ignorance and we can explain most of the scriptural discrepancies.

Still, that is my major disillusionment and disappointment from this series. Naive idealism crashing and burning.
