You may want to consider leaving that church, unless you place more importance on the teachings of man than the Word of God
I’m more concerned with the New Testament. I went to catholic parochial school from the early 50s till 1964. We learned both Testaments but really concentrated on the new.
At this point in my life my faith in God is personal and not in a building with a person I may not trust preaching to me. God is everywhere.
