KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, November 18, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) — Bishop Richard Stika of the Diocese of Knoxville recently denied voter fraud and called for President Donald Trump to concede the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden. Days later, the bishop commended Richard Nixon for conceding the 1960 presidential election despite what Stika considers the decisive influence of “deceased” voters in that election.
Stika’s implication that Trump should concede regardless of the credibility of voter fraud allegations is just the latest in a series of apparent shifts in stance regarding Democrat Joe Biden and the presidential election.
'Love of country and not self is patriotic,' tweeted Bp. Richard Stika of Knoxville.
On Nov. 12, Stika tweeted, “So technically we don’t have a President-elect until the states certify the vote and the Electoral College votes. Until now, it’s the national media who have proclaimed the winner. Just saying....”
However, the same day, Stika referred to Biden as a “head of state” in addressing a story about Biden meeting with Pope Francis:
On Nov. 15, Stika praised Richard Nixon for his “patriotic” “love of country” for not contesting his official loss in the 1960 presidential election, despite the fact that “history now tells us” dead voters swung the election in Kennedy’s favor.

Dont concede a close election

Nixon couldn’t PROVE it.
Soon will be openly engaging if Francis has his way.
Stika, who heads the Diocese of Knoxville, tweeted he’d likely excommunicate Catholic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo if he were his bishop.
Why is a bishop Tweeting anything about the election? Doesn’t he have other things to do?
Without Kennedys fraud, Vietnam and 58,000 dead Americans probably wouldn’t have happened
Or,
maybe he is doing it to himself?
Exactly! Stika was four years-old in 1960.
Certainly a lot of pride in this Bishop’s remarks. This kind of pride not only stops him from being good, but also from understanding what is good. Biden is not good. If this Bishop can’t see that, then he is just another rotten apple whose words are useless to the faithful.
HOW does letting the theft of an election go unchallenged, thereby negating the will of the voters and undermining the founding principles of the nation stem from “love of country” and “patriotism”? The idea is totally perverse.
The notion that Nixon helped the country by not challenging the election fraud back in 1960 has been repeated endlessly, so that it has come to be seen as some kind of established fact. It’s just a story someone made up.
Go with a Missouri synod only. They are conservative. ELCA is out if the question, and Wisconsin synod leans liberal, from what I understand.
What if THE COUNTRY would be better off with Trump presidency than a Harris one? Then does love still counsel concession?
We need to fight and expose the corruption.
while I respected Nixon’s concession, he should not have done it. USA should not have presidents inaugurated based on false, illegal, deceased, or corrupted votes. Trump obviously won and won big, he should fight on til he can true the vote! And I am so thankful he is doing it,
He’s a servant of Moloch and The Great Deceiver.
As a Catholic I am embarrassed by clergy who are more interested in being good democrats than good Catholics
We’re here because Republicans have been gracious losers in the face of fraud ever since.
