If you are active in Evangelical Christian circles, you’ve heard of this guy. Piper’s more of a “reformed,” Calvinist bent, but very famous for many books and conference speeches that are praised even by Arminian Evangelicals.
I’ve never liked the guy, detecting more than a hint of phoniness in his manner. He overly tries to sound “gentle,” but ends up coming across as pussified. I really cringe every time I hear him. Never bought any of his “products.”
