(Amen. We praise You, LORD, for Your ageless sovereignty over all nations and the fruit of Your anointing on President Trump and the tasks Youve set out for him to do.)
LORD I thank You for how You have redeemed outlets like Twitter and Facebook for good despite their ownership. I praise You for the free exchange of information, evangelism, and education provided by outlets like YouTube and even Instagram. But LORD, I lament the depth and substance of human relationships, human understanding and dialogue, being swallowed up by all manner of social media. I lament the robbing of awe and admiration and focus due only to You. Return us to the power of the LOGOS. The Word. Revive in our culture the hunger and desire of great books and poetry, the epic tales and heroic virtues which inspired the likes of our nations founders. Draw us especially to the tangible pages of Your Holy Scriptures. Make us ingest it like Bread of Life it is!
Renew depth and substance in our culture. Renew virtue and set our minds on the invisible things of eternity, not the contrivances of this passing life. Renew our imaginations and the culture we create thereof. (Restore timelessness to our music and art!) Especially in the Church! Yes. Please destroy the virus of shallowness infecting our churches! Revive the sacraments. Revive our sense of mystery and wonder. Revive silence and contemplation. Revive our holy fear and awe of You and our anticipation of Your return. Revive our intimacy with nature *and* the spiritual realms, as we draw nearer to Your presence amidst the chaos and distractions of life. Help us out shut out the noise and tune into the sounds echoing from Heaven.
Please equip us Your vessels: at home, in private, outside, at work wherever You place us to be salt and light. To be forces of transcendence. Outwardly, we may be wasting away but inwardly we are being renewed day by day. And may the renewal at work *within* us, touch everything we encounter outside us. In accord with the riches of Your glorious Grace. Amen.
AMEN, especially, “And may the renewal at work *within* us, touch everything we encounter outside us. In accord with the riches of Your glorious Grace. Amen.”
