Friday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) responded to religious groups filing separate federal lawsuits against him over his new restrictions limiting attendance at religious gatherings amid a spike in cases in some New York City neighborhoods.
Cuomo told “CNN Newsroom” acknowledged that it is a “complicated” situation because of different cultural aspects, but said that everyone has to “follow the rules,” no matter their religion.
“They are not following the rules. We know what happens when you don’t follow the rules: the infection rate goes up,” Cuomo advised. “And it just proves our point from the get-go. We know how to control the virus, but you have to control the virus. You have to be disciplined. And when you don’t follow the rules, it goes up. And that’s what’s happening in these very small clusters. Now, these are religious groups, it tends to get more complicated, frankly, because of some cultural aspects. But that’s what we’re seeing in New York.”

Diseases ravaged Colonial America that we haven’t seen in years. Diphtheria, smallpox, and fevers raged through communities and took its toll. Visits to 18th and 19th Century graveyards show us that infant mortality was rampant due to infectious diseases. Although the science of infectious disease was not well known at the time, people have understood since Biblical times that quarantining the sick was helpful in slowing down the spread.
Even with this knowledge, the Founding Fathers did not add a caveat to the First Amendment stating that our rights were suspended “in times of plague”. And believe me, they had plenty of plagues back then.
Guidelines are OK. Public information is OK. Quarantining the SICK is good medical practice.
But Cuomo doesn’t have the right to do what he is doing to People of Faith. And he does seem to be targeting Religious Jews, which is particularly heinous in the light of recent History.
SO WHAT if they have cases the object here is to develop herd immunity these people are such idiots they can control the spread until ANYONE goes back to living their lives!! The virus doesn’t go away it just becomes delayed!! This BS is unconstitutional AND where in the hell is Barr he has become a huge disappointment in ALL WAYS!!
And the percentage of American population who would continue to vote for actual enemy evil leftist fascists like this, will be on full display shortly.
It will represent a number proximal to the number of voters willing to destroy liberty, and who want to control and enslave society.
Heck, I bet they couldn’t recite the Bill of Rights!

You have to follow the rules of the state as well.
That means you don’t get to make up the rules as you go along.
The Constitution says you have limited powers and one of those limits on power says you don’t get to make up rules about how religion is practiced. You don’t get to restrict how many people can attend a mass or a Synagogue beyond the legal occupancy under fire codes.
So crawl back in to your bassinet and suck your thumb until you get over yourself.

My family has an old cemetery in west ARK full of dead kids dying in the 19th century from diptheria all within two months.
