Thanks for your advice.
Did you use an ice machine?

**youll be wondering why you waited this long to have it done.**
I came to that conclusion about six months ago. It is so true. If anyone is reading this and needs knee surgery, get it done NOW!

I’m not looking forward to the PT, but I’ll just offer it up.

**but if you take your pain medicine about 45 minutes before your therapy,**
Great suggestion.

Thanks for your prayers. My kids are all over so I am putting myself into a nursing home that has excellent PT.

Yes my dear Salvation. I will be praying for you. Im sure it will go well. I had one a few years ago and never regretted it and had no issues.

Yes, I used an ice machine. That was very important and kept the swelling down and the pain down.
Do you have someone to change the ice for you?
From a tip from someone else, I used bottles of water for the ice....put the bottles in the freezer (dump a little bit of water out of the top of each bottle so when they freeze they don’t bust the bottle open). then put the frozen bottles of water in the ice machine.
Just an idea that worked for me.

Asking God to provide rapid and full recovery to you, Salvation. Also asking for Him to guide the hands of your medical team as they operate and take care of you. In Jesus’ precious name I pray.

Prayers sent. Ive had major surgery on both knees (ruptured patellar tendon, not knee replacement). Be careful with PT. A lot of the rehab places seem like they want to get you back running marathons as quickly as possible. If you feel pain after a session, tell them, and dont be afraid to let them know if you think theyre pushing you too hard. It is a long process, and theres no benefit to going too fast.
Have them order you one, or two, of the large gel cold pads. They wrap around the knee better than ice bags or blocks. They do eventually get stiff and brittle, so you may have to get new ones eventually. Dont be afraid of the pain meds, unless you have had bad experiences in the past. I was on pretty heavy meds for an extended period of time, and didnhave any problems stopping. But everyone is different, in that respect.
Best wishes for a quick and relatively pain-free experience.

I hope you have very manageable pain, but in the event you don’t, would be interested to know if 30mg of oral CBD would be effective in lieu of the narcotics. Bless you no matter what.
