I am so sick of the Catholic hierarchy.
The best, the greatest priest I ever knew was stricken dead by a stroke in March. He was 42 and had taught only the message of Christ’s salvation according to Scripture. This was enough to make him a rebel who would never know higher ecclesiastical rank.
He knew it and joyfully preached that those saved in Jesus’ name need never fear the death of the body. I hope to see him in Heaven someday along with my beloved wife who preceded me.
Laus Deo!
Im sorry that the world has lost that great priest who passed at such a young age. We could use more like him!
I have met one phenomenal priest who came a year ago for our Lenten mission. He spoke about sin and its effect in our lives, personally and communally. I told him after the 5 day event that I have been waiting to hear a priest speak like this since I was a child. We dont ever hear about sin anymore. Its by acknowledging our sin that forgiveness and healing can really take place.
My own pastor is terrific, and has been pretty brave the last few weeks. I wont go into what he said, but Im certain he will be reprimanded for speaking the truth. As you mentioned, he will never get very far in the hierarchy, but thats good news for us.
