Do protestants read the whole Bible or just ignore the parts that they don’t like?

Now that's rich coming from a Catholic...

You drank the kool-aid. So you believe that Jesus forgave all of your future sins when you say that you are saved? Is that really logical? Why did Jesus give His Apostles and their successors the authority to forgive sins or to retain them?

We will continue to disagree until you can show me the truth of your beliefs (not your mere general opinion) or you learn to accept That Jesus trusted and authorized His Catholic Church To Preach God’s Truth of Salvation and to Baptize all nations with the keys to the kingdom of Heaven instead of your man made interpretation and doctrine.

Rev_20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Do you know what that is??? Of course you don't otherwise you'd know why Jesus gave his Apostles (not successors...there are no successors...) the authority to forgive sins or retain them...
And you would know that apostles forgiving and retaining sins has nothing to do with the church, or even the Catholic Church...
You would know what the Kingdom of Heaven is instead of just throwing words around to non suspecting Catholics like you know something...

And you'd know what this verse means...

Rom_4:8  Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Your comment: “you’d know why Jesus gave his Apostles (not successors...there are no successors...) the authority to forgive sins or retain them...
And you would know that apostles forgiving and retaining sins has nothing to do with the church, or even the Catholic Church... “

Your ability to intelligently state your doctrine is lacking. There is no reason or logic to your comment. Your doctrine is to blame the Catholic faith for everything you can not substantiate. No where in the Bible does it state there are no successors to the Apostles - quite the contrary.

The Church that Jesus founded did not end with the death of the Apostles. As St Peter and the Apostles started to build Christ’s Church in all nations, it is reasonable that they selected successors such as Matthias and Timothy and many others to continue to build the Catholic Church.

Your denial of the Words of the Gospel indicate your denial of Jesus. The Sacrament of Confession has been available to Catholics for the last 2000 years.

The saving grace won by Jesus is offered as a free gift to us, accessible through repentance, faith, and baptism. We turn away from our sins, we are sorry for them, and we believe in Jesus Christ and the gospel. Repentance shows our willingness to turn from things that keep us from God, and baptism renews us, filling us with the grace necessary to have faith and to live it. This belief is more than just “head knowledge.” Even the demons have that (Jas 2:19). It’s more than just believing you’re saved. Even the Pharisees had that (Jn 5:39). True, saving faith is one lived and exhibited daily: It is “faith working through love” (Gal 5:6, cf. Jas 2:1-26).

Sometimes the Church is accused of teaching “salvation by works,” but this is an empty accusation. This idea has been consistently condemned by the Church. Good works are required by God because he requires obedience to his commands (Mt 6:1-21, 1 Cor 3:8, 13-15) and promises to reward us with eternal life if we obey (Mt 25:34-40, Rom 2:6-7, Gal 6:6-10, Jas 1:12). But even our obedience is impossible without God’s grace; even our good works are God’s gift (Rom 5:5, Phil 2:13). This is the real biblical plan of salvation.

The time is coming soon when Jesus will purify His Church and the world of sinners if they do not repent and change their ways. It is predicted in the Book o Revelations Chapter 8.

Romans 4:8 linked with 1 John 3:9 is as absolute an assurance as is possible ... for it is GOD Who is in you having received the unbreakable Seal of The Holy Spirit of GOD by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Once born again, forever born again.
