Precious Savior, Mighty God and Holy Spirit...I come to you this a.m., broken hearted for your child, my brother, Donald Trump, who just happens to be the President of the United States. I praise you for the wonderful gifts of family and success you have given him during his journey here, gifts which have propelled him to he heights of our political system. Most of all, I thank you for the humility and caring he shows to the least among us. Perhaps that is why powerful enemies have hated him with a vengeance from the first day they sensed that you were raising him to power, now years ago. It seems they relentlessly planned and plotted his destruction, being willing to use any and all means of powerful communication to overturn the will of our people and, most importantly, your will, Father, for you say in your Word that you allow our President’s to come into office and that we should accept them regardless of whether our hearts support their political philosophy. We are to “Render unto Caesar“ unless Caesar is trying to replace you. In my mind, I sense that the President’s enemies are trying to replace you, Lord. Father, I thank you for the sleepless night I just had, as I grieved and prayed for Donald Trump, for I know his heart and I know his love for this nation and it’s people, of all races, religions and creeds, and, Lord, I know he even loves his enemies, as you tell us to do. Today, I pray the wisdom of Psalm 37 will be with him,so that he can understand how God views what he has gone through in his position as our President. He and we had no idea of the hatred and punishment the office of President would bring to him for we have never seen that before for any other President. Whatever comes, I know you have our President in your hand for I know that armies of people have been praying and are praying for him. You have told us, Father, that we would have trouble in this world, but that you have overcome the world, through your precious blood, shed on that lonely cross. So, whatever cross President Trump has to bear for your sake and ours, we share with him and we will continue to pray unceasingly for you to continue to give him and his precious family strength and resolve as they need it. Most important, though, in my heart is the need to pray for his enemies. I pray that those who burn with such hatred will somehow be brought to an understanding of you, your character and the wisdom you would have us all learn, which, you have clearly told is first and foremost is to “Love the Lord our God with all our heart and our neighbor as ourselves.” May you continue to bless, lead and guide all our leaders, and especially our Dear President Trump. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen
