We don’t work to get salvation, and we don’t work to keep salvation.
Bingo!

Do you have Faith?

It appears to me that if a person wants a pre-trib rapture; verses can be found to prove it.
Likewise...
...if a person wants a mid-trib rapture; verses can be found to prove it.
Or......if a person wants a post-trib rapture; verses can be found to prove it.
Or......if a person wants no rapture at all; verses can be found to prove it as well.

I consider myself an active and engaged Christian. Almost never even think about the rapture.

Please tell me what “law” Paul is referencing in Galatians 2:15-21?

Hebrews 11 various

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Then if you don’t have works to back up your “faith”, you have a dead faith. If you don’t have the works to back up your talk, then that’s all you got is talk.

Elsie, even the devil believes. Just believing isn’t going to save anyone short of a death bed confession.

I think our friends don't understand that a born again believer in Jesus Christ will have a NEW spirit nature that desires to live a holy life. Some new Christians are further along in their maturity and sanctification in Christ than others but it is an individual process as our Heavenly Father conforms us to the image of Christ. They sound like they imagine a believer must not only profess faith in Jesus Christ they must also prove to God that they mean it by being "good" and never sinning for the rest of their lives - as if God needs to see our outward acts to know what we feel within our hearts. Must we also count on our good works and commandment following to save us? Isn't it enough that we have faith in Christ and live in holiness as it is God who works in us, both to will and to work for his good pleasure? I tell you what...I'm going to trust what GOD tells me, not modern day Judaizers!

You really cannot help with logical fallacies ... I have not called ‘everyone’ a liar. See how twisted your reasoning is?

Beautifully delivered! AMEN! The Tribulation has two prongs of purpose: 1) to deal with the earth=dwelling unbelievers who have reject God’s Grace in Christ; 2) to end sin of rejecting the Messiah and evangelize Israel. With purpose #1, it is important for humans to reject the mark and call upon the Lord for deliverance, and a number so great John could not number them show up in Heaven as Tribulation saints; with purpose #2 a Remnant of alive Jews will be protected from the evil one by the Messiah’s power and will be the people populating the millennium of the Kingdom.

To Boatbums:

Please tell me what “law” Paul is referencing in Galatians 2:15-21?

Ok, I’ll just tell you, even though you had a 50/50 chance of getting the right answer. The right answer is THE CEREMONIAL/SACRIFICIAL LAW. That is where the Jews messed up. They were focused on the tasks involved and they thought that if they did that, they would have salvation. Again, Paul is clear:

Rom 9:31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
Rom 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Rom 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

This has NOTHING to do with God’s eternal 10 commandment law. The ceremonial/sacrificial law ended at the cross.

You, Boatbums, don’t understand what law Paul is referencing. That’s your problem.

AMEN! How can people not see that it's no different to say you are saved by grace but kept by works as it is to say you are saved by works??? We are saved by grace through faith and not works, Scripture clearly states. If I haven't died yet, then to do good works to keep my salvation is the same thing as saying we do works to get salvation! There is a spiritual blindness that prevents the proud and boastful from comprehending that truth.

“foisted on the gullible by fundamentalist no-nothings!”
I’m not a fundamentalist but if I were I would find it hard to take someone serious who called me a “no”? nothing.

Do you believe you are so strong that you can do no sin and thus 'keep' the faith for an eventual deliverance?

Do you actually believe that YOU put on the righteousness of Christ?

Do you believe there is going to be a great departure of ALL believers since the Day of Pentecost preaching by Pater?

Not one person, past present or future could ever earn their salvation. Period

And with the brilliance of satan, cannot keep their salvation of their own efforts.
