Wealth redistribution (socialism, Marxism) will be the death of the Republic, since it destroys prosperity - and without the hope of prosperity, no system of government can stand. And there is no hope of prosperity without the protection of private property, and the knowledge that you can keep what you earn.
President Trump was right to focus on “the economy stupid” and get us out of bad trade deals, punitive taxes and job killing regulations, because only economic success will get him re-elected.
But so much Marxism has been baked into the cake over the last century that needs to be undone and President Trump has barely touched the surface. So far, he has picked the low hanging fruit but he plans to do so much more - and this is the threat he poses to the Progressives.
That is where the Left will attack next - they will try to scuttle the economy - via Federal Reserve policy.
