You just knew that Morning Joe would seek to exploit for maximum political gain the Christianity Today editorial by outgoing editor-in-chief Mark Galli that was highly critical of President Trump. And sure enough . . .
First up today was Never-Trumper Rick Tyler, who praised the editorial for having "overturned the tables of the money changers in the temple courts." In a particularly audacious attack, Tyler claimed that Trump-supporting evangelicals are telling others that "Christianity is sort of a farce. That it's not real. That it's not true."
Next up was Al Sharpton, who approvingly cast the editorial, because it's "exposing all of them that they would take this shameless con man over the principles that theyre preaching. In the holy season as we celebrate Jesus, they would sell Jesus out if they thought they could get something from it," like judicial appointments.
It's always amazing to marvel at the chutzpah of Reverend Sharpton calling out someone else for exploiting their religious bona fides or race-baiting, or being a shameless con man. Holy Tawana Brawley!
Here's the transcript.
MSNBC Morning Joe 12/23/19 6:30 am ET
RICK TYLER: Look, what Christianity Today has, they have overturned the tables of the money changers in the temple courts, and theyve disrupted their business models. And I know that hurts to hear for a lot of people. But a lot of this is about money, because they've raised money off of off the judge issue, off the life issue.
. . .
But when theyre saying that this is the person that we uphold, that we want to keep as president because were getting the things that we want, it destroys your witness. Because what it does is, it tells people who are non-Christians, and non-Christians can be equally as moral as Christians, that Christianity is sort of a farce, that its not real, that its not true.
. . .
AL SHARPTON: The reason [Trump-supporting evangelicals are] so offended is its exposing all of them that they would take this shameless con man over the principles that theyre preaching. In the holy season as we celebrate Jesus, they would sell Jesus out if they felt they could get something from it, is the inference hes saying from his editorial. And thats sad on many levels.
Sharpton does not know the Man, Jesus. if he did, he would not use the Name this way! Honor and Glory goes with the Name, Jesus.
Sharpton is not fit to even use the Name in print.
Gods not gonna take to kindly to the Left claiming to speak for Him.
Most Christians didn’t vote for Trump based on him being a man of God. But when they looked on the alternative it was a no brainer. Looks to be the same in 2020.
That’s cute. Al Sharpton calling anyone a “con man.” Maybe he meant it as a professional courtesy.
This is the same Al “shakedown” Sharpton who supports any demoncrat candidate who wants to murder unborn babies?
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Al Sharpton knows of a Jesus in the form of white powder.

Who's a Shameless Con Man?
Who?
My year is not complete until i hear from the wisdom of A.S.S
“’Would Sell Jesus Out’ for ‘Shameless Con Man’, Al Sharpton”
Says the original Shameless Con Man.
Agree...the way they (the left) are ‘babbling on’ and carrying on blindly, is almost Biblical!
Merry Christmas, to you!!
