When I've been led toward one or another congregation in the past, aside from hats, kavorka, potluck, and personality, I've typically gone with doctrine (with a nudge from the Holy Spirit) as a criterion.

Not getting into specific doctrinal points here, though. Don't want to open a (ahem) can of Worms.
