My standard isn’t Hal, a fallible man, wrong on things he should have known better than to proclaim... but he was right on many things.

This technology started with chipping pets more than a *decade ago*, and is used worldwide to identify and return pets.

Shelters and vets have chip readers already.

Is it the same as the “mark”? Yes, the technology is here already to implement that very thing. Back in the 70’s and 80’s it had yet to be imagined but now we can easily see how it might work. Nobody had even heard of microchips or nanotechnology back then.
