That is true.
They have always been abused by men (and women) to force subjects to obey "the will of God". On the surface I think churches provide a good intentioned way of guiding people but the opportunity for corruption is frequently too much for many men to deny.
When I think about how badly the Catholic church has been destroyed from within by the very people who were supposed to be the role models (the priests); I feel disgusted.
Now I see other brands like the Methodist church breaking down into two camps; the pro-homo and the non-homo. If the goal was to destroy religion; what better way than to use homosexuality and pedophilia as a method? Neither is compatible with Christianity/the bible yet they flourish in all religions. Even the cult known as Islam where the penalty for homosexuality is death. Talk about a major conflict of faith!!
