I can't believe people are still argueing over religion ... I'm Shocked, shocked. .

Everybody out.Every body out!

In everything you do, Preach the Gospel, If necessary in song! Words are ineffective.

God bless us. What don't we get about us!

Sigh.

Good morning friends. what a blessed day we have in Jesus! Talk amongst yourselves. I'll be back later to check up on your progress.

You’re not helping your position any. Inclusion of numerous bible verses, just because they have the word “read” in them, does not establish the man-made teaching that all that will ever be necessary for Salvation is in Scripture. Naaman the Syrian and the thief on the cross are both examples: they did not study the Scriptures.
You appear to me to be confusion the expiration for sin (the Cross/resurrection) with whatever vehicle God happens to use in order to bring people to a point that He has an excuse to be Merciful to them. “Being saved” is just the *beginning* : some of the Catholic mystics (try St. Theresa of Avila for example) or St. Thomas Aquinas (”I have seen things which make all my writings look like straw.”) are quite clear on this.

Jesus is no respecter of churches which don’t obey.

Read Revelation 2 & 3.

By no means do I mean to imply that the RCC is still around because it obeys. It clearly hasn’t as evidenced by the corruption and immorality rife within its clergy ranks.

So the apostles and church fathers, who learned at the feet of the apostles, are wrong. But (insert random Protestant American seminary) graduate is right.
The question is, at what point did the Church’s deviation from what American Evangelicals hold, cause it to be non-binding, on either practice or morals.
If it is before the completion of any if the major creeds, or the rejection of any of the major heresies, that is problematic.
Incidentally, what happens when Protestant congregations go off into the ditch? Divide and female preachers being but two examples. Some groups end up sintering seemingly ad infinitum...; or you have the Joel Osteen church of Oprah/boyfriend Jesus carnival. At what point ate their teachings discounted wholesale?

“the man-made teaching that all that will ever be necessary for Salvation is in Scripture. Naaman the Syrian and the thief on the cross are both examples: they did not study the Scriptures.”

Two points friend.

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.. how blessed are the feet of those who bring good news.”

Faith that LEADS to salvation always comes from hearing the word of God - whether by reading Scripture, or hearing it spoken by a faithful witness.

This obviously includes Christ, The Word of God, when he spoke to the thief on the cross.

Namaan was healed. I don’t believe Scripture says he came to saving faith. He may have, but many things are not recorded in Scripture. We must also recognize Naaman was speaking to a prophet, who spoke the words of God to him.

Best.

Christ never promised an *unbroken chain of succession*.

“Be Zealous, and repent.” He doesn’t write them off: c.f. St.Paul to the Corinthians, regarding a man sleeping with his father’s wife (off-topic, a little bit of Macron older-woman thingie there, eh?), “I have delivered him to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved on the day of Christ Jesus.”

“At what point ate their teachings discounted wholesale?”

When they abandon the authority of God, they are cut off, like cancer by believing churches. Christ did this to churches in the book of revelation.

This also answers your question about when the church deviated from truth. It began before the end of the life of John. It continued. Today, half of what is taught does not find root in Scripture - Apostolic and otherwise.

May I ask why the Pope, bishops, Cardinals, and priests involved in horrific child sexual abuse and it’s coverup are still in power?

Best

Scripture never says Christ ever went to the bathroom either. So what? But He did promise that the Gates of Hell would not prevail.

“Communist usurpation.

Do you claim ALL in authority in Rome worldwide, are communists?

If so, why do you attend a communist church willingly?

If not, why are the non-communists not cutting off the cancer that exists worldwide in Rome and her churches and leaders?

Best.

:-)

Scripture. Paul and Christ lay out the actions to take for certain members and churches.

Had to cut off Rome at one point! 😂😂😂

““I have delivered him to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved on the day of Christ Jesus.””

True.

Also:

Paul writes of a sin that will lead to death and Christ eliminates Churches in Revelation.

And as an afterthought here, Paul commands us to separate from those teaching falsehood.

I don’t know the official or unofficial flowchart in the Vatican. But my adopting Catholicism happened long before the Argentine usurper; and there are those more knowledgabe than me about Canon Law, who maintain that Bergoglio is not legally in the seat of Peter (see “sedevacantists.”)

I was born into a Catholic family. Thankful I began life understanding sand believing a number of true things about God.

(In fact, I served as a. Altar boy - never molested thankfully).

I came to faith in Christ for salvation in college. I now know him and have assurance of salvation. It was the final step I never heard in Rome. Yet without it, no one is saved.

It is all about Him and never about a church of any kind.

Still, I hate seeing the moral failure of Rome - what’s left of her.

knowledgabe — where is auto-correct?
Oh, that’s right. It’s introducing errors. From such separate yourselves.

I quoted scripture and told of coming to saving faith in Christ.
