Except that he was being crucified between two robbers, or thieves.
He did NOT lead a righteous life.
Those words indicate he must have been obedient to the Fathers commandments, Just as Yeshuas words to the Christians in Matthew 7:21-23 indicate that they were disobedient.

You just can't let go of your works abased salvation, can you?
Jesus did NOT tell him he was going to be with Him in paradise based on the righteous life the thief led.
It was purely and simply salvation based on faith alone.
