If the title looks plain idiotic, it's not. On October 31, many who identify as being believers in Christ Jesus will actually do just that. Their church may have a spooky "trunk or treat" or festival, or a costume contest and they'll take their kids to it. This year the costumes will be even more horrific than the last, but it's all in fun. No. If you or your church participate in the celebration of Satan's day, you are in league with the Evil One and are not truly a Child of the Living God--Jesus. Get yourself and your family out of that church, repent and receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord or recommit your lives to the Lord, and find a church that does follow Christ and teaches the whole Bible. If there is any gathering at any church on the 31st, it should be to pray for the protection and safety of our law enforcement, first responders, our fellow believers, missionaries, our loved ones and thank our Savior that He indeed is coming quickly. My beloved FRiends, I love you in Christ Jesus.
The word ‘Halloween’ comes from ‘Holy Evening’, because it’s the evening before All Saints Day. It’s the evening for dispelling evil spirits before All Saints Day. It’s NOT for worshipping evil spirits.
As I just wrote to another poster, I was being sarcastic with my post about Christ to make a point. You folks are very sad. You miss read a post and already think you know that I’m spiritually dead. Are you kidding me? Satan must love having ignorant allies like you.
Crabby prudes ruin religion.
“Superstition is itself satanic.
Gospel is divine.”
Unfortunately, 99.9% of people treat their religion as a superstition.
Finally, someone with some knowledge!
What happens when you quote that verse to Jehovah’s Witnesses? ;-)
I am SO SORRY! I honestly thought you were serious. Hence my “WHAT???” reply
Please forgive me. I would have LOL had I realized you were joking
MARANATHA!

Eh, no. It's the eve of All Saints' Day, therefore "All Hallows Even", "Hallow" being an antique word for "holy"; therefore a synonym for "saint" (which comes from the Latin word for "holy", through the French).
November 1, All Saints, we commemorate (very joyfully!) all of the faithful dead who are in heaven, but who aren't formally canonized (or maybe even known) by the Church and so don't have their own feastday. It's the feastday for "all the rest of youse guys" in heaven that we don't commemorate by name.
November 2, All Souls, we commemorate (in a very somber way -- the liturgy that day is identical to the funeral Mass except for the blessing of the body/casket, and traditional priests wear *black*) the faithful dead who are still in purgatory and need our prayers.
(This will start the screeching of "there's no such thing as purgatory" by the usual suspects. Those of you who are already reaching for your keyboards to post that, don't bother. I don't believe in your "secret rapture" thing, so we're even.)
I have to agree with the poster, he’s right.
If you really want to take a stand for righteousness, then get out of the apostate churches and denominations.
Children in costumes eatin’ candy on October 31st? Baaad.
Bible denying apostate teachers at seminaries? OKaaay!
It is apparent that the origins of specific symbolisms, rituals, traditions and holidays have been forgotten, which only adds mystery to the vivid imagination. Mankind has always been gripped by countless superstitions which terrify some and amuse others.
Christians who are educated in the scriptures and solid in their faith know that Jesus has complete mastery over the spiritual world and that he protects us who believe on him. The silly superstitions that frighten men are childishness and laughable to those who believe in Jesus. Halloween is a frivolous reminder of the superstitious past that has been put behind us.
I think you make a good point, although there may not be any thing wrong in dressing up like a spook or bunny or etc it is all designed to get peoples attention on any thing but the truth.
To lure kids to the church through false means is Satanic and they are better off to stay away from a false doctrine or belief.
Ima go to hell with a Snickers on my breath....
Luke 10:7c Do not go from house to house.
I view what you say to be just an opinion.
Gospel is divine.
He commanded us to not cast pearls before swine.
To refuse to participate because some have commercialized or corrupted its meaning is to let the bad guys win.
Christians are those whose faith is in Jesus and what he said, it makes no difference what any one else said that is why we have the new testament.
Any one who adds or takes away from what Jesus or his apostles said is a liar, why would any real believer want to go to a church based on lies?.
And it’s true that even the activities we know as Halloween trick-or-treating can be used of the Holy Spirit to illustrate godly principles. Among which is that God has decisively defeated evil and what we are now looking at is a mop-up operation. I’d simply want people to think the whole thing over as best as they can, and be careful what they do as they do it. The more we cooperate with the Lord in this mop-up operation, the more we are blessed. We can be used of the Lord to use the existing Halloween pageantry without grooving on it. Treating evil lightly needs a perspective — is it the perspective of mucking around in evil? Or is it the perspective of standing in God? And I hope this is a balanced answer.
