My son was born on Halloween. Nurse asked my wife how she felt giving birth on satan’s day. I told her satan has no day in my world.

Yes do you? Even when He doesn’t see things your way? I think you have a lot of guts to judge other Christians whom you know nothing about

Good point — it’s worth thinking about what the good Lord wants us to do here.

I’m from the pesky OSAS crowd and still believe very much in the Hebrews warning that (paraphrase) if you let slouch the walk He has empowered you to have, God will let the devil take pot shots at you till you get the point of His goad. You can’t be going in the backsliding direction and in the repenting direction at the same time!

In recent years I have begun to notice providential witnesses in my life. Those aren’t for bragging to other people how Christian I am, which was something that I used to do. Those are personal love whispers from the Lord to me, and their presence is dangerous in one way. One of the biblical names of God is Qannah — Jealous. He rightly expects to be loved back.

American Christians who have been praising God for the more Christian friendly focus of Donald Trump compared to earlier recent presidents, might think about how that’s a two way street with God. If Donald Trump represents “Hey! Children! I heard you” then what represents “Hey! Father! We hear You”? Surely it can’t just be voting GOP. How about voting Jesus as umpire in your heart?

I believe it’s asked as a hypothetical. I’m certainly taking it that way. We need to take the wisest tack we can towards secular/occult occasions like Halloween.

That nurse should have never said such a thing to your beautiful wife after she labored and gave birth to a precious little sweetheart; it was like that nurse was trying to speak a curse over that new life.

If God is on the Throne in your home and Jesus is your and your wife’s Lord and Savior, your little one is under His protection as well.

Good for you to stand up to that sorry mistake for a nurse! The Word tells us in Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

If the enemy were to devise a system inducing us to disobey God, how might he do it? Do you think he’d make it obvious, or would it be subtle and unseen?

It’s clear you think carefully about these things.

I don’t want strife between us.

God’s desire for us to abstain from evil is absolute, and it transcends the meaningless ethics of our brief society.

Why can’t we ignore halloween and abandon it?

Otherwise, we give value to something that has none. While risking disobedience to God.

You’re right, God’s kingdom is not in danger, what an excellent and necessary point you’ve made!

But God’ people are in great danger when they act in disobedience to God.

Even if satan has nothing to do with it, halloween has no value.

With him in the picture, it’s blatant disobedience to God.

We follow God the person, Jesus Christ, and we reject religion.

When we put aside religion and its rituals, some things are easier to see.

For example, God telling us to obey him. God’s enemy trying to induce us to do the opposite.

This enemy doesn’t act in ways that are obvious.

Halloween reminds me of what God tells us in Isaiah chapter 14:

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

I think you’re right about my use of the word fanatical in this case.

But we still need to acknowledge our Creator and obey him.

From the book of Acts, chapter 8:

9 A man named Simon had previously practiced sorcery in that city and astounded the Samaritan people, while claiming to be somebody great. 10 They all paid attention to him, from the least of them to the greatest, and they said, “This man is called the Great Power of God!”[b] 11 They were attentive to him because he had astounded them with his sorceries for a long time. 12 But when they believed Philip, as he preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13 Then even Simon himself believed. And after he was baptized, he went around constantly with[c] Philip and was astounded as he observed the signs and great miracles that were being performed.

I don’t want strife either, FRiend.

You and others I’m opposed to on this issue care.

You care deeply.

But I believe you are being manipulated by people, old religious leaders who are most likely dead now. Most likely in Heaven in fact.

King David’s Trick or Treat

King David led his men in masquarading as mercenaries who claimed to slaughter their fellow Israelites. Instead they wiped out entire Philistine villages — men women and children. Spared no witnesses to continue their fifth column operations.

That is the ultimate game of Trick or Treat.

Our children are learning the same skill set on Halloween, but without the ruthless violence.

******

You and others are absolutely correct that we should guard the souls of this nation’s children.

So we agree to disagree.

God bless you and FRegards ....

‘Do you believe in completely and entiring giving up your will to God’s?’

My greatest wish is to know God’s Plan for me. I believe I have found it.

Please note my post above about King David. This controversy needs the Bible.

I often say that the devil is not going to show up at your door in a red suit with horns and a pitchfork.

But don’t worry. Your saying is much better. You definitely know more than me and I will learn from you.

My opinion is that mindsets like yours causes more harm than good in leading people to Christ.

So, you believe in witchcraft.

Halloween isn’t mentioned in the Bible. The problem is that too many Christians want to add to the Bible. That’s why some denominations have added books to what they consider “Scripture”. They look at the world and say “What we need are rules” while God looked at the world and said “What they need is Grace”.

Quoting Scripture could well be relevant were I a Christian..

....But I’m not. While I appreciate its historic and cultural significance, I don’t fund it persuasive, any more so than if someone were to tell me I should change my behavior because of a quote from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the Tao Te Ching, or Dianetics.
