Ive noticed the Bible is being invoked by many unlikely sources in connection with the raging controversy at Americas southern border. The secular press is quoting Scripture. The Democratic Party is quoting Scripture. Radical left-wing activists are quoting Scripture.
Its always good when people consider the moral implications of public policy. So, the Bible is a good place to start exploring the right and wrong of immigration laws. But seizing on one or two out-of-context verses in the Bible does not make for the kind of comprehensive moral case you would expect of those urging various remedies, from comprehensive immigration reform to open borders to abolition of the government agency charged with enforcement of immigration laws.
The Bible actually has a lot of say about national borders, foreigners, citizenship and the law.
For starters, I challenge anyone to check an exhaustive online or offline concordance for the word border or borders to get an appreciation of how many times Gods Word references these terms. While not all of them are relevant to our discussion, I count 169 references, most of them making the point that God really cares about them. Is that surprising? He cares about boundaries between nations. In fact, it is God Himself who invented nation-states back in Genesis 11.
Why did He do it?
It seems He scattered the worlds population and created the diverse languages in an effort to subvert mans efforts to unite in a global kingdom under a false universal religion. Keep in mind, this took place before God created the nation of Israel.

Libs mishandle the Bible. They do not distinguish between individual relationships and national policy.
Individuals need to be merciful and generous, and nice to foreigners. Kingdoms need to maintain outposts and protect their borders.
Not expecting libs to ever understand that.

Irrelevant, at least initially.
What IS relevant, codified, and CENTRAL to this issue which few if any talk about is THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, the Supreme law of the Land.
The Constitution expressly mandates the federal government PREVENT INVASION (Art. IV, Sec. 4). Illegal immigration and immigration of our enemies is invasion.
Trump needs no permission to prevent illegal immigration and immigration of our enemies. He has clear constitutional support for doing so.
Like charity is supposed to be personal - not just through a giant organization.
The Devil has been known to quote Scripture too. But then, the Devil is also the best lawyer in the Universe. And he is only looking for loopholes.
“Invasion” used to mean Japanese propeller planes flying toward us. Now it may mean foreign cyber intruders draining company bank accounts or stealing American innovations and inventions to allow the Chinese to coast on our expensive research work. Also cyber shut downs of water supply in small and large cities, leading to potential abrupt re-starts which would burn out enormous devices that would take months to replace.
Another “invasion” is when that commie Mexican leader told his trashy millions to swarm ahead to the borders of the US and break through them. THAT is an act of war and an invasion.
The Bible has walls all over the place (Joshua circling one, David breaching enemy walls, God warning “your walls will not be able to hold back the enemy” as a warning if people sinned.
Leviticus 19:33-34: And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
I take that to mean the stranger should assimilate and become as you NOT live among you as a stranger.
Deuteronomy 27:17:
Cursed be he that removeth his neighbours landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.
