My parents were big fans of Vera Lynn. They told me they almost named my older sister after her, but changed their minds. I am not positive, but she might have been in the RAF herself. Never has so much been owed by so many, to so few. I think she entertained 8th Air Force bomber crews, who were flying combat missions from RAF bases, in England. She is still alive too. My dad survived the war, but my uncle died on the infamous Bataan death march. I have seen the death march memorial. It was a moving experience.
I guess maybe this thread seems to be winding down. I've learned a lot from it, as always. Some of you guys must stay up all night to make these limericks, eh?
