Apparently, the magisterium failed to teach about Adam & Eve sufficiently to protect to their priests (and their altars) - and the Vatican.
Rome is much like the US government except older and wider. Corruption is in the very top and through the entire apparatus. And those who would fight it are silenced or blocked or removed because to expose the corruption would destroy their power.
Constantine may have done the church some favors, especially in regards to a unified confession of faith, but the long term unintended consequences of wedding faith to the secular government outside of God’s command is still being felt today.
