I could also address the issue of bowing the head at the name of Mary, or the Angelus prayer, etc.....there's really so much in Roman Catholicism to pick from.

I think non-Catholics sometimes ascribe far more meaning to some of the “things” Catholics do than most Catholics. Then again, I think some Catholics play up those things as a reminder of “hey, we’re Catholic!”
