Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Lord and Heavenly Father
You Are The One True God,
The God Of The Heavens,
And Even Rahab, The Gentile Harlot of Jericho, Knew this!
You have displayed Your Power and Your Provision for Israel,
And Promised Abraham that You Would Bless Those Who Bless him,
And Curse those who Curse him.
Indeed, even with Rahab's Gentile Status and her lowly profession,
You bless her mightily for her assistance to the Hebrew Spies.
She and her family are not only spared,
But she ends up being an ancestor of King David, King Solomon, and is in the Genealogy of Jesus.
Thank You, Father, God of the Heavens, For your Grace and Mercy!

May the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA
Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

My Dad, a Navy Veteran of WW2 and Korea, was a wonderful photographer. Because of this skill, which he learned in one semester at the old Boston Trade High School, he became the Official Ship's Photographer on the USS Dade. The Captain gave him his own darkroom on-board, and Dad was instructed to make three prints of every picture: one for the Navy, one for the Captain, and one for himself. Because of this, I grew up looking at original, unpublished, pictures of WW2. It was part of my childhood.

One picture caught my eye. It was a building, round with three roofs, one on top of the other. I asked Dad what it was.

"Oh, that's the "Temple of Heaven, in Peking. I took that picture when we were on a secret trip to deliver Chinese Nationalist soldiers to fight the Communists."

Well THAT was pretty amazing! But I kept looking at the little B&W photo and wondered how that little, stumpy, unadorned building could POSSIBLY be "The Temple of Heaven". Surely, Heaven was much bigger, more spacious, more beautiful, and more exciting than THAT!

Rahab, the Harlot of Jericho, probably knew less about the Israelites than I did about Red China in 1957. But she had HEARD about the God of Israel. And from what she had heard, she KNEW that He was the REAL God, and she calls Him "The God of Heaven." It was her way of acknowledging that He is the Only One.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
