Uh...no....he's YOUR Roman Catholic pope.

That's cute.

A protestant telling a Catholic who is a "catholic" pope.

If you're such a religous expert, why don't you go tell the muslims who their true caliph is?

Or do you fear repercussions?

That post was in response to Post #11. It was never a caucus thread. And I was not the first who brought up Luther.

Caucus threads were not the point, your posting about Luther is what you said you would stop doing. Remember:

No need to worry about any Luther posts from me...

Like I said, it must have been a one day only promise because you are right back doing it again. Do you have any other interests on Free Republic other than trashing your Pope and a man who lived five hundred years ago? I DO hope you are a monthly donor at least!

That's right, and I've not done so since. But when y'all bring him up, I'll respond.

You said "ANY" posts (you POST when you comment to a thread) - not threads you post. Besides, you DID post this thread and it is concerning the Reformation and you DID bring up Luther, so you even backtracked on your own quibbling. It isn't my reading comprehension that's the problem but you not understanding terms.

So, your answer is "no", you will continue to rant against Luther regardless. I hope you are generous with your Free Republic donations!

Speaking of Roman Catholic history...I wonder how Sedevacanists and the SSPX folks rectify their "we have an unbroken line of Apostolic Succession going back to Peter" with their denial of having a valid Pope for the last sixty some years? There's also the issue of Unam Sanctum, an ex-cathedra pronouncement from 1302 of Pope Boniface VIII where he stated:

Furthermore, that every human creature is subject to the Roman pontiff, - this we declare, say, define, and pronounce to be altogether necessary to salvation.

Looks like a few catch-22 issues they have.

So you agree with him on adulterous unions and homosexual activity?

Pay attention bro. From my post 173, to a certain catholic dude. “And probably other issues as well.”
I have NO problem understanding what that means. Maybe others DO have a problem. I can’t help their reading comprehension, but that’s on them.
Now, since you don’t want a Protestant telling you who your pope is, can all of us ex Catholics tell you who your pope is, since we were in that religion before?

Now, it’s almost 1:00 in the afternoon here, and it’s almost 90 degrees, with high humidity, so I want to go relax at Bago Aplaya, and sip cool drinks, while I suffer for Jesus, and enjoy my ASSURANCE of salvation. Maybe some people don’t have, or even want any assurance of salvation, but that’s on them. I am looking forward to meeting ole brother Marty in Heaven. How about you? 👋🤯👍

Not a chance; that’s sorcery at best and blasphemy at worst.

Anytime someone tries to contact ANYONE who has died, it would be called necromancy, but probably means exactly what you say.
If said individuals get an answer, when they commit necromancy, they are utterly deceived, because the answer is from a demon, masquerading as a dead person. You are right bro, it ain’t good. It’s up to us to tell the truth about it, but it’s difficult, when most people are not really interested in the truth, which, I would guess, is the vast majority of the people in the world 🌎

According to scripture King Saul used the Witch of Endor to contact the deceased spirit of Samuel. The Bible portrays the spirit as that of Samuel himself, not a demon...

They are too busy with trying to earn their own righteousness with useless rituals, sacraments, and the Roman Hamster Wheel of Guilt...

You are correct sir. Let me see if I can find some Bible verses about people who belong to works based religions, who are trying to work their way to Heaven.

Matthew 15:8-9. “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.“

Galatians 5:4. “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.“

Those who try to work their way, so they attain Heaven, by their good works, will sink into the tomb, without one, single, solitary ray of hope, for Heaven. Instead, all they will succeed in doing, is to reach the deep, dark nether regions of Hell, where the fires burn hotter than anything that anyone of us could EVER imagine, in a hundred trillion lifetimes.
I can understand why works based religionists are afraid to die. I would too, if I had no assurance of salvation. But, I DO have assurance of salvation, so that doesn’t apply to me. 🤗🙏😂

I have a feeling that the witch of Endor was quite surprised when the spirit of Samuel actually came back, and he was really upset at Saul. I think the witch knew she was a fake, so when it actually happened, it blew her mind.
I would suggest that no one try this at home. That's necromancy. Don’t get into it.

Hm. How many popes were not heretics? Actually, I have no gauge, since none are mentioned in the Bible anywhere.

A few catch 22s? Roman Catholicism has so many conflicting positions I can’t keep track of them.

Toldja so. Cherry pick just a few words from my post and make a nasty whiny comment about them.

Your faith must be pretty weak if you can’t even bring yourself to READ full challenges. Or heck, even replies answering your questions.

No, Francis is not on Luther’s side.

Francis is the problem in the Catholic church that you modern day reformers are protesting against, wanting to get the Catholic church back to its roots that Francis is taking it from.

Derision is not an answer to her question.

Stop being so condescending to people who ask questions.

Y’all want to convert people to Catholicism and then treat those with questions like that?

You’ll never win a convert that way.

How ironic that when Francis first got in we were warning them about him for years and all we’d get was *You guys are Catholic haters! You’re anti- Catholic!*.

They kept making excuses for him that he was minsunderstood, misquoted, misinterpreted, yada, yada, yada and that he just needed to be given a chance.

Now we see the tables turned and devout, traditional Catholics are calling HIM a heretic, vindicating us, and yet not a peep of acknowledgement that we were right, about it to us or apology.

We have been vindicated.

By playing the Nazi card, he has forfeited the discussion.

The rosary is all about Mary anyways.

There are 50 Hail Mary’s for 10 Our Father’s.

More praying to Mary than anyone else.
