In July 1980, Bryan Melvin drank cholera-tainted water and died.
He was transported to Hell where he saw many people being tormented for their sins, including someone he identified as Hitler.

Jewishnotgreek.com covers it pretty succinctly.
It’s even divided in sections.
And yes, an unquenchable fire and undying worm is referring to a specific chapter in Jeremiah, regarding the fate of corpses. All of the verbiage in the bible is about eternal life vs death. Nowhere does it talk about heaven vs hell. That is a “traditions of men” sort of thing.
Your eternal fate is not about geography. It is about condition.
What about mass murderers who repent and become Christians? Don't they get off Scot-free for comes committed on earth?
Anyway, most people in hell aren't mass murderers. They're just ordinary people who never accepted Christ.
Your condition determines your geography.
That "the worm does not die" means that demonic torment of souls in Hell is eternally renewed.
Can't take time to correct the rest of your error; but playing linguistic and syntax games with God on this issue of the eternal nature of the soul is folly; you are preaching nonsense.
Save for later! PING
According to Christ, hatred is counted as murder in His economy.
No one gets off “Scot-Free” when they become a Christian. If a mass murderer or everyday racist hater accepts Christ’s propitiation for his sins as they repent, they have been given the power to make things right in their lives.
“Where a man sows, he shall reap; God will not be mocked.”
For example, Paul of Tarsus was a murderer.
When he met Christ on the Damascus Road, the Lord told him how he would suffer for being a Christian, and this was a fitting position for someone who helped stone Stephen to death.
On the plus side, Jesus said that “He who has been forgiven much, loveth much”... so it behooves all of us to remember that “there is none righteous, not one, all of our human righteousness is as filthy rags to the Lord and stay humble before Him.
[[but are not fully testable. ]]
Several common experiences are testable- such as the brain not getting enough blood and oxygen and a person’s peripheral vision loss and tunnel like white light before they go completely unconscious-
[[relate previously unknown information passed on to them;]]
We don’t know that they had never heard that info- they could have heard that info as infants or children, and had it stored away and when the NDE happened new pathways in the brain are opened up and stored info becomes available again- the brain ‘locks away’ certain info in normal brains- certain drugs, and NDE’s as shown in mri’s reconnect those pathways in certain circumstances- hence the ‘life flashing before our eyes’ syndrome-
As for ‘cli9nical death’ there is a state where a person is ‘clinically dead’ yet not ‘fully dead yet’ if that makes sense- many folks have ‘come back from clinical death’- which suggests that even when machines don’t register a ‘spark of life’ one still exists- God alone determines when to snuff that spark of life completely
I’m not suggesting scientific explanations and test results show there is no spiritual aspect to all this- however, some of them ore common experiences can be explained by science-
That “the worm does not die” means that demonic torment of souls in Hell is eternally renewed.
Sometimes pastors and writers try to complicate the simple message of scripture. They either take words too literally or not literally enough, whichever side suits their perspective.
My daughter once said, regarding hell, “Why is it that those who believe in ECT (eternal conscious torment) take a single part of revelation literally, but everywhere the same subject is mentioned in scripture, they take it allegorically?”
The scripture about worms is talking about worms and fire destroying corpses.
And the unsaved have no immortal spirit. That is only a part of the “saved”. The rest die at what is appropriately called the second death.
And eternity does not always mean time neverending, either. At least not as presented in the bible.
Hell is a place of darkness. Jude 13 speaks of “the blackness of darkness” to which false teachers will be confined forever. God is light (1 John 1:5) and the Father of lights (Jas. 1:17). Hell is described as darkness because it is the place farthest removed from God.

The parable of the rich man was just that- a parable- There are certain things about the parable that show that- Hell will be a place where people can not talk- they also will not be civil and be full of hatred- their hatred on earth will be magnified in hell- the rich man obviously wasn’t full of rage and hatred- The bible also talks about the Dead knowing nothing- (those lost souls won’t know what is going on on earth)- Jesus used many parables- ones where trees talk- or have wisdom etc- the parables are meant simply to teach life lessons ie: don’t store up treasures for yourself on earth- they are useless in the afterlife- etc-

In the 19th century, a lot of humanists believed that we were entering a brave new world of the scientific enlightenment of man. They believed that, one by one, all the worlds religions would be destroyed by new discovery and the effective dissemination of information to the masses via the now easily created mass-produced printed word.
In fact, they believed it so strongly that they believed it to be true because of discoveries they knew would be made. Except they never were.
These people were partly right. Much false teachings in all areas of human knowledge were completely or mostly put to rest. But Christianity was much more resilient. However, a hundred years later, their dream has been realized, but not as they intended.
What has happened is that true Christianity has been going through a cleansing, thanks to things like the internet which has had far more of an impact on the dissemination of knowledge and ideas than the invention of the printing press. Christianity, itself, is unscathed, but many teachings within the man made religions surrounding it are now coming up against serious, and well deserved scrutiny. One by one, they are burned off like so much wood and paint on a piece of iron thrown into a fire. But when the iron is removed, it is clean and pure.
As more and more people avail themselves to the history available on the internet regarding the various sects and religions, they are being exposed. Mormonism is taking a huge hit, as are many of the other false Christian religions. It may be why Islam is striking out like a cornered animal. But specific, questionable teachings are especially vulnerable.
Only Religious outsiders and crackpots espoused the belief that the fate of the lost is not eternal suffering. And it was hard to refute this. It was very difficult to even discuss the subject because you were immediately branded as siding with JWs, etc. And, after all, those who have REALLY studied it KNOW that it is eternal suffering.
But enter the internet. Ideas can be presented anonymously and live or die on not only the veracity of the information, but the discussion skills of those who propose them. And when one side runs out of arguments, when its adherents fall into ad-hominem attacks (commonplace on the internet), they expose the weak foundation of their teaching for all to see. And everyone can search all sides of an issue to make up their own mind.
In other words, with the internets free and easy exposure of ideas and information, the truth percolates to the top.
Which brings us to CI vs ECT. Many, MANY Christians, thanks to their own natural curiosity, have no choice but to examine this teaching and come to their own conclusions outside the control of their traditional teachers. If their teachers can make their case beyond, trust me, I understand this stuff better than you, so be it. But there is a reason more and more people are coming to this belief in Annihilationism. It is because it is becoming clear to more and more people that it is not only supported by the teaching of the bible on the subject, but it more aligns with the personality of the God of the bible. I am one of those converts. And to be clear, I based my former opinion on trusting the word of others and my new belief on prayerfully studying the word with an open mind to the truth. It became crystal clear.
Just as many moved away from the teachings of Catholicism after Martin Luther ran that nail into the door, Christianity is being shaken by the free exchange of ideas and information on a global and instantaneous scale. No, not shaken. Purified. In a way, the humanists were right. False teachings are melting away in the heat of intense scrutiny, but Christianity is coming out stronger than ever.
This is a very good thing.

[[As an NDE experiencr and a neuroscientist, I would say your statements are way off reality.]]
You didn’t post your message- unless that was your only message? That I’m supposedly ‘way off’? neuroscientists have done experiments showing exactly what I’ve said- They’ve even volunteered for many of the experiments themselves- for instance they subject themselves to centrifuges where the brain gets starved of oxygen and blood- and the peripheral tunnel vision happens consistently- mapping brain activity during loss of blood and oxygen show new paths are opened up whenever the person experiences say ‘seeing loved ones who have passed’, or having their ‘lives flash before their eyes’ etc- The brain is also shown to try to make sense out of the dying experience, and it draws on familiar scenes stored in the brain to try to ease the uneasy experience of loss of conscious reality- Not all the experiences of NDE can be explained, but some can- or at least partially

This is why, although I am not a member of a universalist church, I will not rule out that doctrine as a possibility.

Could very well be the explanation
Why did Jesus bother to go down to Hell, if those souls there were already annihilated?
Why did Jesus warn us about the One who can throw us into Hell, if it isn’t a big deal to go to Hell? (i.e. because you will cease to exist?)
Everlasting = eternal

Hell Bible Verses
Revelation 21:8
8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liarsthey will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.
Matthew 25:46
46 Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.
Psalm 9:17
2 Thessalonians 1:9
9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might
Mark 9:43
43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.
Jude 1:7
7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
Matthew 25:41
41 Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Revelation 19:20
20 But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
Matthew 10:28
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
P.S. Fire goes out when it is “quenched”. “Unquenchable fire” means eternal.
