Find me one nation that has been more devoted to God throughout history than the Jewish people? Find me one nation that has stuck with God despite pogroms, auto-de-fes, expulsions, inquisitions, ghettoization, non-stop persecution, and, ultimately, the Holocaust. Find me a people that continues to honor the Sabbath, put on tefillin, affix mezuzot, keep kosher, marry in the faith, build synagogues and go to mikveh, even after their parents and grandparents were turned into ash at Auschwitz.
Find me one nation, like the State of Israel, that honors the complete rights of its 1.5 million Muslim citizens in the heart of a Jewish state. Find me an army that is more moral than the IDF, despite having genocidal enemies completely encircling it.

This is like the famous quote. Jews didn’t keep the Sabbath; the Sabbath kept the Jews.
Yes, chosen to bring forth Jesus Christ, the Messiah. After that "there is no Jew, there is no Greek". There are only those who believe in Christ and those who don't.
Indeed. I do!
I am a Christian man. (With all that entails.) I wanted to say that first, so the rest of my words could be seen with some perspective...............I think:
I have often pondered on the following:
Mal 1:2 “I have always loved you,” says the LORD. But you retort, “Really? How have You loved us?” And the LORD replies, “This is how I showed My love for you: I loved your ancestor Jacob,
Mal 1:3 but I rejected his brother, Esau, and devastated his hill country. I turned Esau’s inheritance into a desert for jackals.”
1) One can substitute the word choose for love. I love my wife, I choose her. I love God, I choose Him in every decision.(well, at least I think about it once a day)
2) “Really?, How have you loved us?” Can you just feel the sarcasm there? Go choose some one else, we are tired of being chosen. Leave us alone. That is not just the Jews, it is us also. I would propose if you are not thinking this on rare occasion, one may not be chosen.
3) “but I rejected his brother, Esau,” Wait a minute, THAT’S NOT FAIR! God loves (chooses) one and not the other? On what basis we ask. Did he choose on merit? good looks? was it willy nilly?
We are left with one of the themes of Job, God is God and we are not and “I will have mercy on who I will have mercy.” Not a very comfortable human condition.
Boteach has consistently supported and hob-nobbed with pro-abortion politicians. That makes him a psychopath and not at all a “faithful” Jew.
But when the OP focuses on how the Jews have not abandoned God with no qualifications whatsoever, he is misleading at best.
And yet they reject Christ. Sounds like the ultimate abandonment to me.
Not all. There are plenty of Messianic Jews. I believe when the time of the Gentiles is fulfilled there will be many more.
No, had no clue, that is not right.
You sacrifice to the point of death. You allow your own son to be crucified for nothing.
I was told by a Jew that current the nation of Israel is one of the most atheist nations on earth.
For nothing?
Thanks yldstrk.
American Jews are almost certainly the most atheist group outside of China. Israelis are not religious, tending toward agnosticism and generic belief in a higher power. But Israeli atheists are much more rare than American Jewish ones.

That is the fundamental disagreement. Many of the basic tenets of Christianity are incompatible with Judaism: divinity of Jesus, a 3 in 1 God, original sin, satan and hell, no reincarnation, etc. I imagine if Jesus was alive today, he would reject Christ. I believe religion is created by man in order to better understand God.
Find me one nation that has been more devoted to God.
The Jews have not be faithful to God. God has been faithful to the Jews.
But i do agree that they like every one else needs to except the forgiveness Jesus has offered them.
Munchausen?
Good point...
