We have been in “the last hour,” from the time of the first century until now. If every Christian lived as if it truly was “the last hour,” we would be prepared for the Lord’s return at any moment.
John 2:
18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.
[Incidentally, from the time of the first century until now, never has there failed to be predictions of the Lord’s imminent return. Every predictor thought they had it right. The lesson is, live each hour as if it is the last. Anticipate the Lord’s return and be about His business. When He finds His servants occupied with carrying out His commands, He will commend them for all eternity.]
Amen as well. That has how I have looked at eschatology for a long time now. Even if the world doesn’t end our own lives will and that could happen anytime due to all sorts of factors. Those who arose on the morning of 9 11 and headed to a flight or the WTC or the Pentagon had no idea what was about to happen.
