Pro-Gay Vatican Adviser Gets Catholic Group Suspended from Twitter
LifeSite News ^ | 9/12/17 | Lisa Bourne

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 12, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – A faithful Catholic lay apostolate was suspended by Twitter last week after Vatican adviser Father James Martin complained about a tweet that teasingly stated the pro-gay Jesuit had been bested in a theological debate on the social media platform.

Father Martin claims that a Catholic Vote tweet urged violence against him and reported CV to Twitter, resulting in the group’s suspension.

"Enough,” the Jesuit tweeted. “When you urge violence against me, even in a supposedly joking way, you cross the line. You’ve been reported to Twitter. Enough.”

The now-deleted tweet to which he was replying said, “And then this Dominican showed up and started beating @JamesMartinSJ like a rented mule. The crowd went wild.”

Father Martin did not respond to LifeSiteNews’ inquiry about his perception of the tweet or specifics of how additional reaction has played out.

Catholic Vote confirmed for LifeSiteNews the group was suspended from Twitter for 12 hours as a result of the priest’s complaint.

CV disputes Father Martin’s assertion that the tweet called for violence and says the high-profile priest was just trying to shut them down.

Mat 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

How have we come to the point where the Russian Orthodox Church is looking like the last bastion of Christian sanity?

This is a Catholic Caucus thread for active Catholics only.

Catholic Caucus threads are for Catholics only, just like
Jewish Caucus threads are for Jews only, and
Evangelical Caucus threads are for Evangelicals only, and
Anglican Caucus threads are for Anglicans only, and
Mormon Caucus threads are for Mormons only, and
Orthodox Caucus threads are for Eastern Orthodox only, etc.

Got a problem with it? Talk to Jim Robinson. He's the one who instituted it.

You need to make the link from the Scripture to who/what is being discussed.

anti-Catholic?
anti-Martin?
anti-Jesuit?
What?

Many consider the Laodecean Church in 3rd Chapter of Revelation to be emblematic of the “modern church.” That is the church at which Christ is outside and knocking; nothing positive to say about it.

Why are you bothering them? They have a right to have a thread and discuss these pressing issues. Their pope is turning their institution upside down so I think they have a right to discuss it without our interference. I’m not Catholic in the least, but I cheer those who stand against an insidious gay/liberal agenda.

>>THEM???....Think about that....<<

What is there to think about? I am not a Catholic but do understand that threads like this discuss topics involving the Catholic Church and its members. It is interesting and illuminating to see how these issues are being dealt with. I don’t think my input is intrusive or objectionable. Further, if you are an independent/non-denominational or evangelical believer, you should definitely not be intentionally obnoxious and thereby become a hindrance to saving faith.

Someone on this very thread suggested consternation with Catholicism and was suggesting (half in jest) that she might seek out Russian Orthodoxy. I have great consternation with today’s worldly fundamental/evangelical churches and have stopped attending them.

I believe that Jesus is speaking of believers (the Church wasn’t yet established). It is not anti anything it is an observation of the Church in general. If you don’t believe the scripture from the beginning in Genesis then you don’t have a foundation to build faith on.

Did this begin as a caucus thread?

I doubt it, but if so, it is no longer.

Has it occurred to you that whatever 'problem' the other poster may have had, either then or now, possibly was not due to caucus thread designations, but could have been something else?

This isn't a caucus thread.

Got a problem with that? Take it up with the OP.

>>it is an observation of the Church in general. <<
If you are referring to the Catholic Church, there are two factions in disagreement. Are both demonstrating a love that has grown cold? Seriously, it helps to clarify these things.

>>the Church wasn’t yet established<<
The Lord Jesus Christ and the author of Revelation, the Apostle John, would strongly disagree and posit that there were several (in Asia Minor, Rome, and Europe) churches including these Seven of Asia Minor addressed. There’s also the churches in Jerusalem and Antioch which were around decades before the Apocalypse was written.

It's an open thread. It didn't seem he was necessarily "bothering" anyone, not unless we should include yourself in this bothering business too. You "bothered" M-cubed didn't you? No?

Around here, it could be better said that we are privileged to post comments. It is not a "right". Caucus thread designations are more in particular not a "right", yet are a privilege that most often will be protected when not respected. This thread is presently not under that designation, though other religion forum rules would still be in effect.

In this instance it's not the 'Pope' who is doing much of anything. Instead, it is a papal advisor, and what that person has done that is the subject of the article. The rot extends beyond Bergoglio. It could even be said that he would not be the one most to blame for the RC high-echelon faggotry? There's long been talk of a gay mafia sort of cabal with the upper echelons (and in the seminaries) of the Roman Catholic Church -- long before Jorge Bergoglio was elected to be bishop of Rome (thus "pope"). They've been having a real problem with it since long before the so-called Stonewall Riots in New York City (1969). This link http://www.history.com/topics/the-stonewall-riots claims the bar was owned by the Genovese crime family. Eye-talian cath-o-lics? Bless me father for I have sinned ...

So? Isn't most anyone here on FR opposed to the same insidious agenda?

The darkness is increasing, no? Keep our own lamps lit and provisioned with oil. What else can be done? Look for opportunity to be of service to the Lord and leave the worrying to Him, maybe?

Wasn’t the Unveiling written before the destruction of the Temple? I believe the New testament writers seem very careful of not bringing the Temple destruction into their writings.
