Just the exterior. Construction hazards was the excuse, but who knows. As with so many structured pilgrimages, it always felt "rushed", although we most certainly were not. This was just one example where I wish I'd had more time.

This was just an opportunistic trip. Vueling, one of the low cost European airlines, had a special fare to 6 different destinations from our local airport for 10 Euros each way. That made it hard to resist. Fatima is about an 8 hour drive from where we live so we may the trip. There is also the Camino de Santiago and cheap airlines combined with a busy large airport nearby make so many destinations easily available it's hard to choose. We just got back from a trip to Florence, Milan, Pisa and Lucca. Round trip airfare was 60 euros each. Early retirement is working out well for us so far.
