If God could preserve Mary from sin without rescinding her free will
Then He could do so for all of us and the cross was not necessary. I doubt Christ went to the cross for the fun of it and along Mary sinless makes a mockery of His sacrifice.

Mary’s sinlessness does not make a “mockery” of God -— no more than Adam and Eve’s sinlessness did, when they were sinless in Paradise before the Fall. No more than Jesus’ sinlessness does, although he, too is a son of Adam. Son of Noah, son of Abraham, son of David, son of Mary. And son of God.

Jesus is Mary’s Savior. Savior! How is that a mockery of God?
