Venezuelan Bishops Pray to Virgin Mary to Free the Country from the ‘Claws of Communism’

The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) has publicly invoked the intercession of the Virgin Mary to free the nation “from the claws of communism,” in a clear reference to the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.

“Blessed Virgin, Mother of Coromoto, heavenly Patron of Venezuela, free our country from the claws of communism and socialism,” the CEV posted on Twitter this Sunday, complete with an image of Santa Maria and a Venezuelan flag.

So you don't believe Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, was omniscient?

He knew the day He would be crucified, He knew Judas had betrayed Him, He knew that Peter would betray Him three times before the cock crowed, and He knew that he would rise from the dead. He knew that He would ascend into Heaven and He knew that the Holy Ghost would descend upon the apostles at Pentecost.

If you deny Jesus Christ's omniscience, you deny His divinity.

God has never made any demands on humans that are absolutely impossible for them to obey.

Story ... I used to go to Poor David’s pub on lower Greenville Ave in Dallas to see Doc Watson. It was small enough that only 100 or so of us could squeeze in. I was attending seminary at the time, just down the street.

+20 years later I caught up with Doc on his last tour. Bigger venue near PHL.

Doc shared his testimony of how another performing artist had shared the Gospel with him just a couple years ago. He shared how he had entrusted himself to Christ for salvation.

I’d always wondered if he knew Christ. It was nice to know heaven will be filled with his guitar - and he will have eyesight for the first time.

It’s amazing that you got to see Doc Watson live. What an experience. I had read about his conversion. I believe the last song he performed in public was, ‘I’ll Fly Away.’

It’s wonderful to contemplate the Lord Jesus being one of the first sights Doc Watson ever set eyes on. He was an amazing artist from start to finish.

I love Deep River Blues, btw. His skill was picking, but he had a very distinctive voice as well.

I was blessed to see doc multiple times. The last was the best - knowing he has eternal life.

That was a very good testimony. I had not known that Merle was a Christian. That is such a blessing. I wondered how Doc made it through such a loss. As he said, that brief conversation must have been a great comfort.

The Law was given to lead us to Christ.

It was to teach us that we CAN'T meet God's requirements and that we needed forgiveness and to drive us to Christ for that forgiveness.
