>>To whom does Christ give the authority to teach?

Matthew 28: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,

Eph 4:11. NASB

Chicory, Christ sent the original Apostles and told them what to teach to reach the world.

He noted, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”

These men laid the foundation stones of the church and reached the known world.

This charge, the Great Commission, is in effect today for our church.

I note the Apostles are in glory, but the commission remains for every assembly of believers to reach every people group on earth. For this purpose God reveals in the epistles - through Peter and Paul - a list of gifts *to* the assemblies and these include pastors and teachers. They are gifted by the Holy Spirit to teach and teach under His authority.

Best.
