I don’t care about the prots translations of the Bible. They been doing it to their whim ever since Luther.

It's not a "prot" translation.

The Greek is the Greek.

We haven't even gotten into the context of the sentence yet.

Roman Catholics have goofed up this translation just as they did Genesis 3:15 which has lead to so much false theology.
