Apparently they can and do refer to themselves as catholic. It’s just a new catholic denomination.

They can call themselves peach cobbler if they want, but that doesn’t make it so.

Did you miss the word “licitly,” or decide to ignore it? They can call themselves space aliens, but that doesn’t make it so.

“It’s just a new catholic denomination.”

In the same way that Satanism is a new protestant denomination.
