Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father,
Who Art in Heaven, How Wonderful and Magnificent is Your Most Holy Name!
For You Alone Are Worthy,
you Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are The Most High!
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
And Omnipresent,
You Know The End from the Beginning
and the Beginning from the End.
We Bless Your Name and Thank You,
Most Gracious and Hallowed LORD,
For Your Holy Word,
While Sometimes cryptic and disturbing,
Is Always true and Mighty,
and Cuts to the Heart of Things like a Two Edged Sword!

We Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
According to your Will and Promise.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

On a now-defunct social website, I befriended an elderly gentleman from a vanishing tribe of American Indians who told me he loved reading my daily posts, and looked forward to my stories. Since I am part Indian(Mi'Q Maw and Inuit), I asked if he, as an elder, would give me an Indian Name. Both he and the Website are long gone, but I will cherish the name he gave me. It is "Day-Brightener".

Native Americans often did not earn their names until they had accomplished some great deed. The naming, or changing of the name was a big deal, and sometimes involved ceremony.

In the Bible, name changes are most often the result of an encounter with God. Abram and Sarai, when they became a Covenant Son and Daughter of the Almighty, both were given new names, by adding an "H" to both of them. Thus, Abram became "AbraHam" and Sarai became "SaraH". The "H" is the prominent letter in the Holy Name of God Himself, and represents the breath of Life (I AM). Now, the analysis of this could take a lifetime, so I will move on to the next name change, when Jacob (Usurper) wrestled with God and became Israel (One who wrestles with God)! (See where I am going with this?)

Now to the remarkable name changes God pronounces in this chapter. Having been a widow for six years, I have to tell you it is no fun. As much as people want to sympathize, the widow finds herself not invited to events where she will be a "fifth wheel", and I have gotten pretty used to either that or doing everything alone. (Not complaining...it just is what it is). Being a widow in the ancient world must have been a whole lot worse...I can't even imagine. The Torah is very explicit about taking care of widows and orphans, and this carries into the New Testament as well. In fact, the first Deacons were men of good character who were appointed to take care of the widows in the community.

Isaiah speaks of a desolation that is a form of SPIRITUAL widowhood. And, when Messiah comes, He will give those widows a NEW Name, which has all the newness, purity, contentment, and beauty of a new Bride. Once again, God gives us the analogy of Marriage, from Adam & Eve to The Marriage Supper of the Lamb, and lots of places in between.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

I may not always click on or post, but seeing your thread’s title causes me to remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Thank you!
