And if I have faith but persist in my sins, am I saved by my faith alone?

You left the most important part out: faith THAT SAVES.

If you have the faith that saves-and therefore you become born again into Gods Kingdom-you will not persist in your sins.

Search your heart. Is your old heart gone and do you have the new heart that Gods gives to his own?

"...we believes that God judges actions, but that actions are the result of faith, and it’s faith that saves."

But is there a faith that does not save? Paul and James would say yes. Then how do they differ? When talk about the faith vs. faith and works controversy I often get the feeling that we are talking past each other because we are talking about two different, but equally valid, meanings of faith.
