Difference being. You’re not consecrating your heart to mhgitn. You’re not praying to him or relying upon him for salvation. You don’t have idols of him you kneel before or light candles before. You’ve not attributed supernatural abilities to him.

Consecrating your heart to Mary is using her as a role model, similar to Paul's admonition, "Imitate me as I imitate Christ" (1 Corinthians 1:11), which is not worshipping Paul. The process of consecration to Mary revolves around prayers to the Holy Spirit and Jesus and culminates in a consecration to Jesus, which is the purpose. I'm relying on Jesus for salvation, not Mary; I'm relying on Mary to assist me by praying to Jesus for me, just as she interceded at Cana. Statues of Mary are not idols any more than the statues in the Jerusalem temple were idols or any more than the Lincoln Monument is an idol. Kneeling to the Queen Mother of the Son of God and the King of Israel is a sign of respect per the commandments to honor your father and mother and to honor authorities, not a sign of worship. Neither are candles a sign of worship of Mary, just as the lampstand God commanded to accompany the Ark of the Covenant was not a sign of worship of the Ark (and Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant who carries the Manna from Heaven--her Son--as Luke alludes to in his first chapter with its allusions to 2 Samuel 6 in Luke 1:39ff). Mary's supernatural abilities come from her Son and from the "grace" the angel mentions she has when he salutes her in Luke 1:28 (Χαῖρε, κεχαριτωμένη!), not from herself.
