I did not know this was against guidelines, and if I am in violation I ask the RM to make this plain and remove any offending post.

I must say I have been a RF participant for over 17 years and have never guessed I could not link to my own posts. I do thus pretty fr very frequently, since I am often responding to a FAQ. Is cut-and-pasting my own material allowed, in lieu of linking?
