God’s Word. Let us reflect on that. When Jesus Christ says that “ you must eat My flesh and drink My.blood,” who is it that takes Him at His Word? Who clings to His Word in this regard? If being faithful to Christ’s divine institution of the Holy Eucharist is cultish or offensive to your rationalist perspective, that is your problem not mine. I believe He is present in the Eucharist, not because I have seen Him, not because I have felt Him, not because I have tasted Him, nor because I have smelled Him, in hearing only have my senses been not deceived. Read for yourself the lyrics of the great hymn “Pange Lingua” of Thomas Aquinas to understand what Jesus Christ meant by His actions at The Last Supprr, His words in defense of His true presence in John 6, and his prophetic rebuke of doubting Thomas. It is all so beautiful.
Matt: 5: 29....If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
