You misspelled “obvious communist.”
And not only could be be, only the really stupid would deny it.

Protestantism is the first step in the degradation of authentic Christian theology and philosophy. Then comes Rationalism. Then comes Modernism, then comes Communism, and later comes the refined form of Communism tailored to South America known as Liberation Theology. You can thank the corrupted Jesuits for that.
It is not accurate to equate Pope Francis with the beginning of the cascade, he is more closely aligned with the final stages of metastasis.
He next moves are predictable. He will push for the Catholic embrace of gay marriage (Amoris Laetitia means Gay Love) and the canonization of two Alinskyites; Caesar Chavez and Martin Luther King Jr.

Remember the good old days when the question “Is the Pope Catholic?” was directed at Captain Obvious?

Protestants are far more Christian than this pope ever has been.
Don’t go starting some kind of “Who is more Christian” war on FR. That isn’t Christian.

Sadly, it has little effect because communists, as part of the wacko uber left, is not considered extreme left by the left anymore. In fact basically nothing is. It’s part of how they now dare call unrepentant Alinskyites and McGovernites centrest or even right of center ... and how some nutty Soviet era holdover useful idiot like Sanders is considered a better choice by many in the DNC.

“The dude wouldnt even make a decent Northeast Episcopalian.”
I have to respectfully disagree. Most of the Piskies I know are convinced he is one of them.

80% of evangelicals voted for Trump. We’ll take Pope Francis - if he repents, resigns, and agrees to follow what scripture reveals instead of anything he feels on a given day.

Francis would probably be a good fit in today's ELCA hierarchy, except he appears to give Luther more credit than those particular "Lutherans" do.

"What incentive is there for a Catholic to remain obedient to the church's teachings" If you mean the Church's authentic teachings --- what Christ teaches us through the Church --- then the objective is to serve Christ and to manifest our love for Him.
John 14:15-21
If you love me, keep my commandments.
The kicker is, this Pope is against papal teachings.
Some jokester published a parody list of Pope Francis "New" Ten Commandments. The first one was: "I am the Lord thy Pope. Thou shalt not heed strange Popes before me."
