Actually I will lose a number of good friends if all the illegals are removed. But that is necessary to maintain a nation. Separately, I believe that the USA should have taken all the Cuban refugees in the 60s and 70s and all the Vietnamese refugees up through the eighties. They are fine additions to the nation. Those that got here came with a healthy distaste for governments and they have been industrious and have given much to America. Some of my legal Viêt Kiều friends before the late election were beginning to wonder if they should become migrants once again. They are much at ease with the Trump win.

For me the count would also include friends and a couple former girlfriends. They won’t be ‘lost’ as they will still be on the same planet.

I’ve known illegal aliens who probably wouldn’t be counted in the 11M count as they are here on tourist visas and go home 2 times per year but violate the terms of their visas by working. Some of them vote. One claimed he did so because ‘what the USA does affects the world.’ (That particular person is back in Ireland now, fortunately.)

Either way, they all urinate on my nation’s sovereignty. I don’t bother to ask myself ‘are they good for the USA’ or ‘are they net contributors’ unless they are first in accordance with it’s laws.

I have a particular disdain for politicians who tell me how we NEED aliens coming here illegally.
