Huh? Oh c’mon. We know the OT scholars made errors (very rarely as proven by how close the Masoretic text matched the Dead Sea Scrolls) but they made them. But it was really rare (mainly side marks for pronunciation hints that didn’t change meaning). You see, the Jews were fanatics about it. Jews believe that the OT was divine in the letters themselves (which had mystic numerical values) so yeah they were really careful.

God choses imperfect agents all the time to do His will. The apostles messed up, David messed up, even Moses messed up. The Bible we have today is as accurate as He wanted it to be. I believe that the Hebrew OT that we have today contains everything important that He wanted it to have, made though imperfect agents. Anything possibly lost was either inconsequential or unnecessary in communicating the Law and the prophets to the Jews (and us) all according to His perfect will.

Otherwise every scribe would have to be inspired like Moses and the prophets themselves. Every single one. That’s nuts.

And I don’t appreciate you condemning me for not agreeing with such a transparently silly assertion.

Goodnight. I’ll be praying for you too.

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Mark 13:31
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luke 21:33
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Three times in the New Testament Jesus said, His word shall not pass away.

But I should not believe that, because Gideon7 said God's word has errors, and it can't be trusted.
