I have an acquaintance who is strongly involved in the pro-Life movement. He’s by far a single issue voter.
I told him that the primaries are the time for electoral purity, but during the general election, we are down to a binary choice.
In his case, Stein and Johnson are as pro-abortion as Clinton, Trump has never been a strong pro-life guy but he’s definitely saying the right things. he’s approaching it from an economic perspective.
I believe that there are many ways to get the pro-life message across. Personally, I’m disappointed in those that make it into a religious thing. I’m not catholic and am uncomfortable with and very opposed to most catholic doctrines. When I attend pro-Life events, I feel that all the catholic religious images and pictures of Mary are detrimental to the cause of life and also serve to keep protestants and evangelicals away.
In the Catholic meme set, Mary is considered the ultimate mercy, while she’s an irrelevant figure to others.
Artistic symbolism of the sacred heart of Jesus would be better understood across denominational boundaries.
