This is completely unbiblical. Upon death, the spirits of humans do not “hang around” the earth, they go to their appointed place until the time of the resurrection/judgement.
Any spirits that are “hanging around” must, therefore, be either angelic or demonic. There is no middle ground.
Having died, left my physical body, gone to Heaven and then returned, my personal experience and interpretation of scripture differs from yours.
You would be surprised in that often the love between spouses is so strong that if one dies, the other hangs around and waits for the other. You can’t convince the surviving spouse otherwise as they “know” without a doubt that their loved one is in waiting.
As always, when someone interprets scripture different than me, I ask them to pray for me that I may find the truth in the Bible. For the Bible is my life manual. I am always reading and praying for guidance in my life.
Some spirits hang around waiting to enter the womb at conception. There is much more than most are aware.
I see, feel and hear spirits all the time... So did Jesus... I reply as Jesus did, would satan cast out satan? A house divided will fall.
