It's a joint effort of the following campus ministries on the SU campus and is being supported by 25-30 local area churches. This has the full support of the new chancellor.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes Evangelical Christian Ministries Roman Catholic Association Historically Black Church Young Life College Brothers and Sisters in Christ (BASIC) Adventist Christian Fellowship Baptist Campus Ministries Bible Study Ministries The Vineyard Lutheran Campus Ministries Mustard Seed Fellowship Orthodox Christian Fellowship Syracuse Cru United Methodist Ecumenical Campus Ministry
The stated purpose of the event is:
TO UNITE THE BODY OF CHRIST AND TRANSFORM THE CITY OF SYRACUSE
The keynote speaker is Michael Hopkins.
There was a very powerful prayer meeting tonight for this event on Friday. Real spiritual warfare going on tonight.
Things are still coming together, but this is no ecumenical feel good, kumbyah flash in the pan.
May the Holy Spirit move at SU and the city.
He is.
He certainly did tonight and that was the basic focus of the prayer.
There was prayer for revival in both SU and the city.
Just an update.
The Worship the King event at the Carrier Come went beautifully. They are hoping to make this a yearly event and are planning on holding Worship the King worship sessions every Sunday night during the school year at Hendrick’s Chapel, the campus chapel.
I am SO happy to hear that!
