I think everyone needs to take a step back and consider where this is going.

Where do you think this is going? The post you objected to refers to "the weak Jesus of Rome, the Jesus who must be sacrificed over and over again".

Clearly, the poster is referring to another Jesus than the Jesus of Nazareth Who is both Lord and Christ and Savior of the world...the Jesus of the Gospels in the Holy Bible.

Our Lord and Master Himself warned us that many deceivers would come saying they are Christ but not to believe them. So, we test the spirits by His Word. And we recognize His voice and follow Him alone and none other.

A catholic priest has written on the notion of Jesus having to be sacrificed over and over again.

John O'Brien in the "Faith of Millions":

While the Blessed Virgin was the human agency by which Christ became incarnate a single time, the priest brings Christ down from heaven, and renders Him present on our altar as the eternal Victim for the sins of man—not once but a thousand times! The priest speaks and lo! Christ, the eternal and omnipotent God, bows His head in humble obedience to the priest’s command.
